HELP DESK SUPPORT

Hubbardton Forge is one of the country’s largest contemporary forges located in Castleton, Vermont.  We have been domestically designing and manufacturing award-winning hand forged lighting fixtures and accessories for over 35 years.  

Currently we are seeking a dynamic individual to support our MIS initiatives.  In this role you will provide help desk support, trouble shoot, and provide overall systems support.  If you are an innovative thinker and problem solver and want to be part of a culture where you can make a difference, this is the opportunity for you.

SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

HelpDesk

  • Take initial requests, issues, and inquiries (telephone, email, in-person)
  • Track all issues and requests in centralized MIS database
  • Escalate issues as necessary to other team members for support
  • Prioritize work based on business impact and known deadlines
  • Work with outside resources/vendors as needed to resolve issues that require additional or specialized help
  • Track system assets as required
  • Mobile device support – iPhone, iPod, iPad
  • Procure basic supplies – toner, mice, etc.

Systems  Administration

  • Support , upgrade, repair, and replace hardware, including PCs, laptops, printers, servers, LAN
  • Support Office software and ensure other software functions (ERP software - Manage 2000, SolidWorks, etc.)
  • Support phone system (PBX, wiring, services, phone lines, phones)
  • Work with leaders to and systems administrator to aid in the movement of equipment, wiring, etc.
  • Use of PC images for rapid deployment
  • User creation and simple user/group security

Projects/Project Management

  • Work as support member for projects
  • Communicate with project manager on project responsibilities and status as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 to 3 years relevant experience (technical support, systems administration, etc.)
  • Strong technical understanding of various hardware, software, and networking systems supported
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software (Windows Desktop OS and Office)
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Support Mac hardware and Mac OS
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Provide backup to systems administrator where needed and possible
